Can Limerick Chamber of Commerce help seek and encourage new businesses to fill the vacant units at the Jetland Shopping Centre on the Ennis Road?
It’s very disappointing to see so many shop units closed in this modern shopping centre in Caherdavin. These units have been vacant for far too long and new businesses starting up in Limerick should be encouraged to take up the vacant units here.
The units which are occupied provide a lot of full and part-time employment in the area and we should do all we can to have the Jetland Shopping Centre fully operational.
There is a very large underground car park so no parking problems and great access from the Ennis Road and Condell Road. There is a bank onsite, and at Ennis Road Retail Park straight across the road, a cinema, toy store, soft furnishings retailer, pet shop, and large home and DIY centre, which gives this area plenty of opportunity for expansion .
There is scope for more fashion stores, a children’s soft play centre as there is none of these centres located north of the river, another coffee shop, book shop, travel agents, home interior stores etc. in the Jetland Complex and efforts should be made to attract business to the area. Dunnes Stores as landmark tenant bring large footfall to the Jetland, so the right businesses should see this centre thrive.
